Soap N Skin produce handmade and natural products for your skin, hair & body, I have been lucky enough to have tried their body butter which was amazing. The elixir is the newest product to their shop so I couldn’t wait to give it a try, I’m a huge fan of oils and elixirs which seem popular at the moment as an alternative to cream as oils sink in to the skin quickly and easily.
The elixir is an 100ml bottle of argan oil & orange blossom which has been ethically sourced and can be used on your hair, face & body….providing moisture to your hair which will help heat damaged hair while promoting hair growth when massaged into the scalp. For your face this elixir will help repair skin and can calm any irritation, you can wear this under makeup or use it after cleansing your face. The neroli & organ oil will help stretch marks, scars, dry patches and is perfect to use after shaving your legs as it will calm inflammation.
What did I personally think of the elixir:
I love that the elixir is ethically sourced using only the best ingredients, the full list is argania spinosa kernel oil (Soil Association Certified Organic Argan Oil), Citrus aurantium amara flower oil (Bitter Orange), Linalol, d-Limonene, Geraniol (naturally ocurring in essential oils). They do not test on animals and the products are all paraben free, SLS free and no synthetic colours & fragrance….this makes the elixir perfect for all skin types no matter what extra skin issues you have such as eczema.
It was the most beautiful packaged I had ever received, a large white box filled with moss and dried orange which smelt gorgeous with the elixir sat in the middle felt like luxury arriving. Soap N Skin do have the most beautiful looking products as they care about the customer and are so easy to communicate with, they are also active on social media too.
The dark brown bottle is easy to with a pump action so you can take out as much or as little oil as you want, I started using this on my face to see how I got on…the oil sinks straight into my skin but leaves a small amount on my shiny face which takes a couple of hours to fully sink in but it needs time to start working it’s magic. Soap N Skin say you can use this as a primer which I haven’t tried yet but the elixir gives a smooth all over appearance so I can see how this can be used as a primer, after a week of using this my skin is soft and I have less breakouts (I stopped my normal daily cleansing routine to try just the elixir) which is amazing as my chin is almost always spotty.
My hair can get greasy really easily using products so I was a bit scared to use this on my hair as a serum as it is so thin I thought it would look wet on my blonde hair so I decided to use it as a condition treatment, I poured a small amount and worked it into my scalp and the ends of my hair which are damaged due to using straighteners. I left the oil in my hair and dried as normal, my hair looked healthy after around 4 times of using this elixir and the ends of my hair were less frizzy.
I have had kids so have a few stretch marks and a scar on my arm, as of yet I haven’t noticed a huge change but currently 4 days of using this on my body probably needs longer to get the repair process going, my legs and body are softer though so the oil is sinking in and working well. I used this after shaving as stated by Soap N Skin and the tingly dry feeling I normally have after but always used a cream, the elixir stops that tingly feeling straight away and nourishes your skin while leaving an amazing scent of orange on your body.
If you would like to try this elixir you can purchase it from the Soap N Skin shop who also give some tips on how to use the oil, Soap N Skin have also pledged a percentage of sales from this elixir to help pamper women from rural Morocco bringing free beauty therapies into their villages. I personally love the story behind the elixir helping Moroccan women and their small communities…if you would like to support them while using the elixir I can promise you that you will enjoy the elixir for yourself.
